THE REVOLUTION OF...
BRIDLE No. 02
The vision for this noseband has long been in Karin's mind, but it took time to complete. Not only because the measurements had to be adapted to all sizes, but also because the manufacturing technique requires both great skill and precision.
But the wait was well worth it – the bridle is finally here, and it’s magical!
THE OCTA CONCEPT
THE BRIDLE THAT WILL CHANGE THE INDUSTRY
This noseband is our pride and forms the foundation of our OCTA CONCEPT. The name OCTA comes from "octagon," meaning eight-sided. When we look at the horse's head in cross-section at the cheek, we see that the horse’s head has an octagonal shape, with the bridge of the nose forming the top.
Our OCTA CONCEPT is based on the idea of creating the world’s absolute best bridle, and for us, this involves several key factors:
THE BRIDLE MUST REMAIN COMPLETELY STILL
One of the most important conditions for peak performance is that the bridle or double bridle stays perfectly still on the horse’s head. While this may seem like a simple task, in practice, it is something rarely achieved with many bridles.
THE BUCKLES ARE CRUCIAL
The buckles on the headpiece are fixed, meaning you adjust the height of the noseband and bit by moving between the holes in the straps. The knob that fastens the strap is non-movable, which helps distribute pressure and ensures the straps never sit crookedly.
UNIQUE OCTA FEATURES
THE NOSEBAND THAT GIVES SPACE FOR THE CHEEK
The noseband features a distinct octagonal design with soft padding at the top of the nose bridge. Its "cracked" shape means that it is already octagonal, allowing it to sit a bit looser without creating large gaps, which is common with round nosebands that tend to slip around on the horse.
At the cheek, where regular nosebands often cause pinching and other equipment issues by pressing against the teeth, we have created a perfectly placed cutout. This allows the horse's cheek to have more space and bulge out without the risk of being pinched.

AS A HEADPIECE SHOULD BE
The headpiece of this bridle, like all our others, is softly padded along the ear. It features a small "tunnel" where the mane can comfortably fit, but most importantly, the headpiece includes a perfectly positioned cushion to protect the TMJ (temporomandibular joint), which, simply put, is the joint where the lower jaw attaches to the skull. It is considered the most sensitive joint in the horse’s body and can be compared to our temples.
COMMON PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH TMJ PAIN
- Head shaking
- Sensitive ears, head-shyness, reluctance to be bridled
- Tendency to place the tongue over the bit
- Tension in the neck
- Prefers to carry the head slightly tilted
The browband is easy to change but has a fixed position, so it cannot move up or down.
